It covers emergency medical services, psychiatric emergencies, and injured personnel who do not require ambulance service. The instruction requires specified notifications, transportation arrangements, and reporting within stated timeframes.
Applies to: It applies to all military and civilian members assigned or attached to Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB) including tenant organizations.
Whether the situation arises during or after normal duty hours, the first responding element to be notified is 439 MSG/CEF at extension 911. (paragraph 2)
Any situation in which danger to self or others is suspected should result in transportation, (designated by social worker/medical representative) of the member to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Massachusetts, or the closest available emergency department.
The 439 AW/CC and 439 AMDS/CC must be notified within 24 hours of any psychiatric emergency.
If a member is transported for psychiatric evaluation, 439 SFS should initiate steps to notify the member’s group commander within 24 hours.
During normal duty hours, injured personnel are transported to the contract medical facility by shop personnel.
