It establishes approval procedures, required forms, annual reapproval, and restrictions on commercial activities and private employment. It also addresses home-based businesses, food preparation, childcare, language teaching, licensing, and solicitation.
Applies to: This instruction applies to members of the US Armed Forces, civilian components, and dependents in Japan as described in Articles I or XIV of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), who are assigned, attached, or associated with the 35th Fighter Wing.
The DAF Form 3902, Application and Approval for Off-Duty Employment.
Persons approved for employment will obtain reapproval annually by submitting the Annual SOFA Employment Verification Form to the proper approval authority no later than 30 September. (paragraph 1)
Persons approved for employment must notify the approving authority of any change in the nature or termination of employment. (paragraph 1)
IAW DAFI 48-116, Food Protection Program and AFMAN 48-147, Tri-Service Food Code, using personal quarters as a “food establishment” is prohibited. (paragraph 2)
Food establishments must not provide home-processed wild game or other meats, home-canned or home-jarred foods, or dairy products from unapproved sources. (paragraph 2)
