Applies to: This instruction applies to all personnel assigned to the Base Honor Guard and all agencies supported by or supporting the program.
A minimum 20-member Honor Guard will be maintained for active duty funerals based on the requirements set forth in AFI 34-242. (paragraph 34-242)
Personnel selected for Honor Guard will incur a minimum 12-month commitment. (paragraph 34-242)
Honor Guard members are required to attend and arrive on time for all practice sessions, details, formations, open ranks, etc., unless permission has been granted for an excused absence. (paragraph 34-242)
Travel to and from detail will be by government-owned or controlled vehicle only. (paragraph 9)
Weapons will never be left unattended or stored in a vehicle overnight. (paragraph 7)
