It assigns duties to base agencies, maintenance organizations, the Incident Commander, and CDDAR personnel. It specifies recovery equipment, training, emergency actions, aircraft support, and provisions for geographically separated units.
Applies to: It is applicable to all base agencies (military, civilian, and contractors) that have specific responsibilities to support CDDAR recovery efforts.
When base transportation cannot support heavy equipment requirements such as cranes and/or semi tractors and trailers, units must establish lease agreement(s) with local suppliers in accordance with (IAW) lease procedures established in Air Force Instruction (AFI) 24-302, Vehicle Management. (paragraph 2)
Coordinate with the Base Bio-Environmental Engineering (BEE) office to provide a briefing on all known hazards and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements before allowing them access to the site. IC’s must ensure personnel are properly trained and equipped to enter any site where hazardous materials (including blood-borne pathogens) pose a threat to their safety. (paragraph 3)
All CDDAR members will be tracked on Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS) Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) using specific course codes. (paragraph 3)
Ensure CDDAR team members receive initial training comprised of both academic and hands-on recovery exercises. (paragraph 3)
Upon notification, MOC will initiate the emergency action checklist. (paragraph 3)
