Who must attend formal initial BSS training?

Personnel assigned to BSS duties must attend a formal initial training course, conducted by the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, prior to unit assignment as a BSC or BSCT. (paragraph 5-2)

How often is BSS refresher training required?

After completion of the formal initial training course and assignment to a unit as a BSC or BSCT, BSS personnel must complete refresher training at least every five years thereafter. (paragraph 5-2)
