TC 6-22.6 describes engagement across mission, organizational, work unit, employee, and work factors. It addresses communication, trust, teamwork, career development, performance, work-life balance, proficiency, and autonomy.
Employee engagement is the level of commitment an employee has for the organization and the level of initiative applied to their duties.
The organization and supervisor have roles and responsibilities that contribute to employee engagement, but the employee determines the level of engagement they possess.
Leaders who engender trust do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying, unethical behavior, favoritism, or personal biases from others. (paragraph 2-1)
