TC 3-01.81 covers certification and qualification for M-LIDS, FS-LIDS, and handheld systems. It includes gunnery tables, fire control processes, range planning, scorecards, written tests, and emerging C-UAS systems.

The individuals must successfully pass GST using the evaluation standards between T-6 and T-week. (paragraph 2-3)
The crew must score a minimum of 700 of 1000 points overall, score 70 points or more on all targets presented on seven out of ten engagements, qualify at least one night engagement, and successfully pass using evaluation standards between T-6 and T-week. (paragraph 2-9)
All FS-LIDS crew members must pass the general knowledge test within 30-days of being assigned to a FS-LIDS crew. A score of 80-points or above is consider passing and unit trainer will keep hard copies of the test as historical training record. (paragraph 2-96)
Service members that scored below 80-points will conduct retrain by the unit trainer immediately after their failure and re-test within the next 24-hrs. (paragraph 2-97)
Service members must be able to identify, categorize, and discriminate eight out of ten UAS by group and category. (paragraph 2-98)
