AR 700-138 covers materiel condition status reporting for ground, aviation, unmanned aerial system, and missile equipment. It establishes reporting methods, readiness ratings, equipment criteria, deficiency resolution, and logistics sustainability analysis.
Applies to: This regulation prescribes policy and provides procedures for collecting and reporting the physical condition of Army materiel that will aid in the development or modification of logistic policies, procedures, and strategies for equipment readiness (ER) sustainability.
In unusual cases, units, or elements of units that have a ground and/or missile ER-reporting requirement under this regulation may be temporarily excused from their reporting requirements. Units may be excused from reporting during periods of unique circumstances or during the conduct of special missions or training.
DCS, G4 is the only official authority to grant exemptions to readiness reporting.
The primary method of reporting will be through AMSS. If AMSS is not available, unit must use an alternative HQDA-approved electronic system. (paragraph 1)
Authorization is not a requisite to reporting. (paragraph 1)
Missile equipment reporting is a monthly requirement for all units. (paragraph 4-2)
