It sets qualification criteria for retention, reenlistment options, reclassification, stabilization agreements, and the Selective Retention Bonus Program. It also addresses Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit transfers, career counseling, mobilization, retention facilities, publicity, and enlistment and reenlistment oaths.
Processing should also ensure that records and reports are fully documented and confirm the Soldiers military status. (paragraph 3-1)
A Soldier currently serving in the RA who wishes to reenlist or continue service for SRB will submit DA Form 3340 to their immediate commander (see DA Pam 601 280 for procedures regarding DA Form 3340). (paragraph 3-2)
Qualifying a Soldier for reenlistment has five steps. (paragraph 3-4)
Reenlistment options are only available, unless otherwise qualified, to those Soldiers at the rank of private first class or above, who are considered in the reenlistment opportunity window; processing may vary. (paragraph 4-1)
