When must leave be granted within operational requirements?

Leave and other absences from duty must be granted within the constraints of operational military requirements. (paragraph 2-1)

How much leave can Soldiers carry into a new fiscal year?

Soldiers may not carry forward more than 60 days of leave into a new FY (except when entitled to SLA or during the period 1 October 2008 through 30 September 2015, when 75 days could be carried forward). (paragraph 3-1)

Can Recruiting Assistance Leave be extended with a pass?

Recruiting assistance leave may not be extended with a pass or other non-chargeable absence. (paragraph 5-2)

How much chargeable leave will normally be granted for a permanent change of station?

The commander or approved designee will grant at least 30 days of chargeable leave, except as noted in paragraph 82c, unless the Soldier requests less leave, or military operational requirements restrict or preclude leave. (paragraph 8-2)

When is leave charged for the day of departure?

Leave will be charged for day of departure unless it is a regularly scheduled duty day and the Soldier worked for more than half of the day. (paragraph 11-1)
