What must commanders and Army personnel do under AR 525-2?
All persons designated as Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) Army Protection Program Board of Directors (APPBOD) board members by the Secretary of the Army, and all commanders, Army organizations, and personnel will support the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G3/5/7 in executing this regulation and implementing the APP. What are the Army Protection Program functions?
The APP enables the execution of Army missions in all threats and hazards environments by integrating, coordinating, synchronizing, and prioritizing the efforts and resources of the 19 APP functions with their associated programs and processes. (paragraph 3-1)
Can the Army Protection Program eliminate risks from threats and hazards?
The APP cannot eliminate the risks of threats and hazards, but it does seek to prevent, prepare, protect, mitigate, respond, and recover from an event to minimize the impact on the execution of DoD and Army missions. (paragraph 3-2)
How often must Army Protection Program functions be addressed in exercises?
Exercises will operate within the progressive series guidelines, and will address all individual APP functions at least once every three years. (paragraph 4-3)
