How often must DA personnel complete CIAR training?
DA personnel will complete CIAR training within 30 days of assignment or employment to an organization, and every 12 months thereafter pursuant to DoDD 5240.06. (paragraph 3-2)
What happens if someone fails to report required information?
DA personnel who fail to report information, as required in chapter 4 of this regulation, that identifies reportable contacts, activities, indicators, and behaviors may be subject to judicial or administrative action, or both, pursuant to applicable law and regulations. (paragraph 4-2)
What briefing and debriefing is required for travel to high-threat countries?
DA personnel scheduled to travel (official, unofficial, permanent change of station) to or through countries with a high foreign intelligence or terrorist threat level as identified by Defense Intelligence Agency or the Department of State, will receive a special CIAR briefing prior to the travel and will be debriefed upon return. (paragraph 5-2)
What should happen when a counterintelligence incident presents an imminent threat?
If the incident presents an imminent threat to life or property, call 911 or the local Military Police station. (paragraph 6-3)
