AR 350-66 covers small arms marksmanship, civilian and Army-sponsored competitions, National Matches, and excellence-in-competition matches. It requires eligibility controls, match procedures, credit-point awards, and participation limits.
Army personnel of all components will be provided opportunities to prepare for, and participate in, small arms marksmanship competitions. (paragraph 2-1)
Competitive marksmanship-match programs at all levels within the Army will include combat-type EIC matches. (paragraph 2-1)
Each individual is authorized to fire for credit points in no more than five recognized EIC matches with each weapon (Service rifle and Service pistol) during the calendar year. (paragraph 3-3)
An individual who fires in any portion of a match is considered to have participated in the entire match. (paragraph 3-3)
Non-distinguished persons are not authorized to enter EIC matches for practice on a noncredit basis. (paragraph 3-3)
