It addresses military and civil notaries, identification, logs, misconduct, and formalities for acknowledgments, oaths, copies, and foreign documents. It requires training, compliance with applicable law, and specified limits on notarial acts.
All notaries must be trained on the content of this regulation and applicable local law. (paragraph 9)
Notaries may make certified copies of some original documents provided that the notary determines that the copy to be certified is a full, true, and accurate transcription or reproduction of the original document, by carefully and personally comparing the copy and original or observing the copying process. (paragraph 2)
Commanders and SJAs may revoke or suspend the authority of any person to provide notarial services as part of his or her official duties for failure to comply with this regulation or other applicable laws regarding the provision of notarial services. (paragraph 6)
