What missions must Army Music performance units support?
Army MPUs provide music throughout unified land operations to instill in our forces the will to fight and win, to foster the support of our citizens, and to promote our national interests at home and abroad. (paragraph 5)
Who commands an Army Music performance unit?
Army MPUs are separate units commanded by an Army Music officer (area of concentration (AOC) 42C) or a warrant officer bandmaster (primary military occupational specialty (PMOS) 420C). (paragraph 6)
How must Army Music units perform ceremonial music?
Army Music units and musicians will perform ceremonial music at the position of attention, as modified to allow the use of musical instruments. (paragraph 3)
Can Army MPU commanders donate excess musical instruments or sheet music?
MPU commanders in the AA, USAR, and ARNG are not authorized to donate excess musical instruments or sheet music on their personal authority as an MPU commander.
