AR 1-9 covers communications addressed to senior White House officials, invitations to the President, Vice President, or their spouses, final responses, and administrative control. It establishes suspense dates, referral processing, coordination duties, and requirements for tasking control sheets.
ECC WHLO will assign a suspense date ranging from one to 10 working days, depending on the urgency of the request. (paragraph 5)
White House Bulk Referrals" are all other routine correspondence from private citizens addressed to the POTUS, VPOTUS, or White House and forwarded to the Washington Headquarters Services, Executive Services Division, for a direct response and will receive a suspense of 10 working days. Pre-imposed OSD suspense dates on Red Dot actions cannot be extended. (paragraph 8)
All interim replies to the inquiry writer will establish an estimated completion date. (paragraph 8)
The tasking control sheet must be returned to WHLO with appropriate copies and all original correspondence. (paragraph 8)
